Architects in Film: Paolo Soleri

The Foundation is a co-sponsor of AIA ABQ’s Movie Night on Thursday, Oct. 27, which will feature Paolo Soleri: Beyond Form. The film’s director, Aimee Madsen, will be in person for a discussion on the film’s inspiration.
This 2014 documentary presents a fresh and intimate look at the legendary and multi-talented artist, philosopher, urban theorist and architect Paolo Soleri. It focuses on how his body of work has inspired thousands of people over the years and why his technique and concepts have staying power.

SITE Santa Fe: New Perspectives on Art in the Americas

Architect Conrad Skinner’s five-year research project into the history of the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater plays a lead role in the much wider than a line SITE Santa Fe exhibition.
mwtal_image-lockup_1400px-968x461Skinner’s project welcomes visitors with a 700 square-foot gallery that includes a photographic mural of the Amphitheater from which projects an arcing concrete bench, architect’s drawings reproduced from Soleri’s sketchbooks, a slideshow of its construction, and a micaceous clay model of the Amphitheater by artist Eliza Naranjo-Morse.
