2015 Architectural Tour: Landmarks of the Española Valley

October 24, 2015 marks the 28th year that the Foundation will host its renowned architectural tour, and this year the Landmarks of Española Valley will be the main attraction.

The featured location of the tour will be El Mision Santa Cruz de la Cañada, the largest of the Spanish Colonial period churches in New Mexico. Completed in 1748, the adobe structure contains some of the most magnificent examples of locally-produced religious art in the Southwest.

Other planned stops during the bus tour:
Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo
• Plaza del Cerro, Chimayo
El Santuario de Chimayo

Each location will include a guided tour by a lecturer who will help us understand the historic structures along with each building’s context to the community.
